A Travellerspoint blog

Finally there...

sunny 25 °C

So, after almost 30 hours of travelling I have arrived in Australia, well at least I did this morning. I touched down at Perth International with Germanic precision at exactly 01:30 this morning actually.

The flights were actually very good, the food, again, was very good, I think the days have passed when all you got was the leftovers from Little Chef?

The only thing thus far that has been, shall we say, disruptive, was the (almost solid) baby crying aboard the plane all the way from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpar, and THEN all the way Kuala Lumpar to Perth international. I think I have learned something, never allow yourself to be annoyed by a crying baby, because chances are your next flight will place you right next to them, and guess what?

One of my friends suggested a pacifier- I suggested something else...

Finally, I am still astounded that everything functions upside down, the Australians obviously know what they're doing- as I didn't really fancy spending the first night clinging to the ceiling...

On a plus note- immigration was incredibly easy, I was even asked if I had any soil on my shoes? Unfortunately the days of men in long socks and shorts spraying everyone on the plane as you land, have gone... Sniff...

Hope you're all well, and if you've trudged this far through my monologue- you're a hero, and you deserve a medal, well done.
